A natural disaster is defined as a hazard which occurs naturally, that is a disaster that is not brought about by acts of human beings. A natural disaster might be caused by earthquakes, flooding, volcanic eruption, landslide, and so on. 1920 Haiyuan Earthquake
The Haiyuan earthquake occurred on December 16, 1920 in the Republic of China and registered at 7.8 on the Richter magnitude scale, which was followed by a series of aftershocks for three years. It caused total destruction, XII – the maximum intensity on the Mercalli scale, in the Lijunbu-Haiyuan-Ganyanchi area.
